Several weeks ago, I wrote my last essay for 2024, titled "Be Patient With Me ... I'm The New Guy." I introduced it by saying I'd be taking a couple weeks off, returning on January 6 (today). But in true writer/author fashion (not calling out all writers/authors, just the "typical" ones), I'm taking a couple more weeks off.
It's not procrastination, or a lack of desire that's caused this delay; it's more a case of figuring out what I want to do––and how I want to present my work––going forward. I have some ideas, and I'm excited about sharing them soon. But I also have some other projects I need to get moving or completed, not the least of which is completing my next book, which I've been tinkering with, editing and frankly, putting off, for way too long.
That said, I'll be back on January 20. Thanks to anyone and everyone who has ever visited this place and experienced my brain dumps, random stories and streams of consciousness. I plan to share many, many more in the coming months and years.
As for the "new guy" from the last essay, I'm happy to inform you that he seems to have settled in nicely with his work team at the coffee shop.
